My 2ed time eating lunch at Taverna on the Green & YAY! Just as good the 2ed time around as the 1st! Caroline was our server for 9 people and she did an amazing job of taking care of us! The food was awesome and the portions were very generous. I had the Grilled chicken wrap & the veggies in it were so fresh, crisp & beautiful! Hubby had the Lasagna & had to protect his dish from everyone else "wanting a taste"! (they didn't get any lol) Just an awesome restaurant to meet people and enjoy beautiful delish food prepared with love. Caroline was awesome. Atmosphere was beautifully decorated, extremely clean & easy to hear conversations without loud music. Again, hands down, a top tier restaurant in Cookeville! OPA!
We met friends for lunch and to enjoy fantastic food in a family atmosphere! Sarah was our server and handled 10 hungry customers with aplomb & professionalism! She was knowledgeable about the food & sensitive to us just talking talking talking lol. Sarah kept our glasses filled, our plates removed, & was friendly & efficient.
I got the cheeseburger with fries ordered well done & it was delish! The chesse melted beautifully and the fries were super crispy! The lettace, tomatoes, pickles & onions were fresh & crisp with beautiful garden colors! YUM!
Mr. Nick brought out the flaming cheese and WOW! Presentation was awesome & that flaming cheese!!!! Still thinking of it!

We decided to check out Taverna on the Green for a date night; the food was absolutely amazing! My husband had the lamb and I had the crab stuffed salmon. I could rave on and on about how delicious both dishes were. You could taste the freshness and authenticity. So so good. We met the owner and he was personable and interesting to talk to; he even gave us a sample of baklava (which was also amazing). Definitely recommend to give this place a try!
This is such a great place! My husband and family went there for his birthday and they did everything possible to make him feel special! All of the staff even came out and sang happy birthday to him. The flaming cheese was amazing! Everything was very tasty. The menu had so much on it that I could come back and try something new each time (and probably will). The staff was so friendly even though we came only an hour before they closed. The owner even came out and asked how we liked the food. The whole staff was very attentive, and each one of them interacted with us at some point during the meal, which really made me feel welcome and like family there. I will definitely be back to try more things (and my husband will definitely be ordering another piece of that cheesecake)!
The atmosphere at Taverna on the Green was very pleasant — clean, comfortable, and tastefully lit with a soft green ambient glow that added a nice touch to the dining experience. The service was excellent from start to finish; the staff was attentive, friendly, and professional.
As for the food, it was just okay. I had the fried shrimp ($30), my wife had the chicken/eggplant ($28). Our kiddo had a burger + fries ($9). My wife's portion was pretty large but I found mine to be a bit lacking. A side salad would have rounded out my meal but unfortunately it came with only one side.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the cheesecake ($8), which was delicious and stood out as the best part of the evening. So much so that we commented to each other that we would come back just for the dessert.
While the experience overall was positive, the total cost of about $97 (pre-tip) felt a bit steep for the quality of the food. We may end up trying it again for a lunch meal instead of dinner.

Food and service was amazing. Would definitely recommend!! Hopefully get to return and try other menu options in the near future.
